Graduated in jazz electric bass from the “Cesare Pollini” Conservatory
in Padua with one hundred and ten cum laude. In the eighties, he began
performing in Italian clubs and festivals dedicated to blues.
1990-2000
In 1990, he participated in the prestigious Umbria Jazz festival with the “Bass Revolution” project. Later, after visiting Brazil, he founded the “Brasil ao vivo” project with Brazilian musicians Rubens Jacob and Gilson Silveira, bringing Brazilian music to over a hundred concerts in Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. He opened for Joao Bosco, Djavan, and Marisa Monte at the Brasil Festival in Tarcento in 1992.
In 1995, he collaborated with Gilberto Gil, producing the song “Portugal”, with Patrizio Trampetti from Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare.
In 1998, he performed at the Veneto Jazz festival in Chioggia (VE) with Brazilian guitarist Toninho Horta, along with Nicola Stilo and Mauro Beggio. In the same year, he formed the Etnos Jazz Quartet with Saverio Tasca, Massimo Manzi, and Flavio Boltro, later replaced by Fabrizio Bosso. The quartet performed at various Italian festivals and clubs.
Simultaneously, he undertook significant collaborations with Italian pop artists such as Francesco Baccini, Pitura Freska, Cheryl Porter, Patrizia Laquidara, Alan Sorrenti, and Alessandro Safina, touring Italy, Europe, South America, and Asia.
n the ethnic/folk music scene, he collaborated with Neapolitan artists such as Patrizio Trampetti, Eugenio Bennato, and Sicilian percussionist Alfio Antico.
He also performed at festivals and official dates with international artists, including saxophonists Jim Snidero and Justo Almario, singers Barbara Morrison (long-time backup singer for Ray Charles), Wendy Lewis, Ronnie Jones, James Thompson, Vanessa Haynes, and Donna Gardier.
2000-2010
Since 2003, he has been a producer and composer for RTI’s music libraries, creating over one hundred and thirty tracks, including the new TG5 theme.
In 2006, he initiated a project on Italian soundtracks in a jazz style, performing in Ecuador with Fabrizio Bosso.
In 2008, he recorded his first solo album, “Rio Funk,” featuring various international artists and presenting the work on Rai Radio 1’s “Rai Stereo Notte” program. In the same year, he participated in a ten-date Italian tour with Toninho Horta in a trio.
In 2009, he performed with Eumir Deodato at the Marina Club in Jesolo (VE).
2010-Today
From 2011 to 2012, he performed with Alessandro Safina on a theatrical tour in Russia, Ukraine, and Romania, and in 2016 with Tony Esposito’s band for the Future in Padua.
From 2008 to 2017, he was responsible for the artistic programming of the Venice Casino. Also in 2017, he began a collaboration with The Club at St. Regis, a jazz club in Qatar, becoming director until the following year.
In 2018, he played on the album “Progetto latino” by saxophonist Jacopo Jacopetti, presented at the jazz festival in L’Aquila, organized in support of the earthquake-stricken areas in 2020, and at the Cap Ferrat jazz festival in Nice, France.
Since September 2019, he has collaborated with Brazilian pianist Bianca Gismonti, performing in various parts of the world, including Finland, Germany, Brazil, China, and India.
In 2021, he collaborated with Pino D’Angiò as musical director for three live performances in Italy and Switzerland.
Since January 2022, he started a collaboration with Brazilian musician and singer Vinicius Cantuaria, with whom he recorded and produced the album “Psychedelic Rio” in Rio De Janeiro, to be released in March by Sunnyside Records (USA).
A teacher since 1998, with numerous masterclasses in Italy, Ecuador, Brazil, and India, since January 2022,
he has been a pop electric bass teacher at both the “Antonio Scontrino” Conservatory in Trapani and the “Francesco Antonio Bonporti” Conservatory in Trento and Riva del Garda.

Laureato in basso elettrico jazz presso il conservatorio “Cesare Pollini” di Padova con centodieci e lode. Negli anni Ottanta ha iniziato a esibirsi nei club e nei festival italiani dedicati al blues.
1990-2000
Nel 1990 ha partecipato al prestigioso festival Umbria Jazz con il progetto “Bass Revolution”. Successivamente, dopo essere stato in Brasile, con i musicisti brasiliani Rubens Jacob e Gilson Silveira ha fondato il progetto “Brasil ao vivo”, portando la musica brasiliana in oltre cento concerti in Italia, Svizzera e Germania e con cui ha aperto i concerti di Joao Bosco, Djavan e Marisa Monte al Festival Brasil di Tarcento nel 1992.

Ha inoltre suonato in festival e date ufficiali con artisti internazionali, tra cui i sassofonisti Jim Snidero e Justo Almario, le cantanti Barbara Morrison (storica corista di Ray Charles), Wendy Lewis, Ronnie Jones, James Thompson, Vanessa Haynes e Donna Gardier.
2000-2010
Dal 2003 è produttore e compositore delle library musicali di RTI, realizzando oltre centotrenta brani, inclusa la nuova sigla del TG5.
Nel 2006 ha avviato un progetto sulle colonne sonore italiane in chiave jazz, esibendosi in Ecuador con la partecipazione di Fabrizio Bosso.
Nel 2008 ha registrato il suo primo album da solista, “Rio Funk”, ospitando vari artisti internazionali e presentando il lavoro nella trasmissione radiofonica “Rai Stereo Notte” di Rai Radio 1. Nello stesso anno partecipa a un tour italiano di dieci date con Toninho Horta, in trio.
Nel 2009 si è esibito con Eumir Deodato al Marina Club di Jesolo (VE).
2010-Oggi
Dal 2011 al 2012 ha suonato con Alessandro Safina in un tour teatrale in Russia, Ucraina e Romania e nel 2016 con la band di Tony Esposito per il Future a Padova.
Dal 2008 al 2017 si è occupato della programmazione artistica del Casinò di Venezia. Sempre nel 2017 ha inizia una collaborazione con The Club at St. Regis, un jazz club in Qatar, diventando direttore fino all’anno successivo.
Nel 2018 ha suonato nell’album “Progetto latino” del sassofonista Jacopo Jacopetti, presentato al festival jazz dell’Aquila, organizzato a favore delle terre colpite dal sisma nel 2020, e al festival jazz Cap Ferrat di Nizza, in Francia.
Dal settembre 2019 ha iniziato una collaborazione con la pianista brasiliana Bianca Gismonti, suonando in diverse parti del mondo, tra cui Finlandia, Germania, Brasile, Cina e India.
Nel 2021 ha collaborato con Pino D’Angiò come direttore musicale per tre live in Italia e in Svizzera.
Da gennaio 2022 ha avviato la collaborazione con il musicista e cantante brasiliano Vinicius Cantuaria con il quale ha registrato e prodotto l’album “Psychedelic Rio” a Rio De Janeiro, in uscita a marzo per la Sunnyside records (USA).
